A Quiet Update from My Writing Desk
A short update on my current projects and where the stories are heading next.
It has been a little while since I last wrote to you.
The days have settled into a quieter rhythm here. Writing in the mornings, letting the work unfold slowly, piece by piece. Some projects have moved further than I expected. Others are still finding their place. For the first time in a while, everything feels as though it is moving in the right direction.
The most important update is this.
The final book in The Adventures of Jack the Cat is complete.
This last part of Jack’s journey has been with me for longer than I realized when I first began. Finishing it did not feel like reaching the end of something, but more like setting it down carefully, knowing it now belongs as much to the readers as it does to me. It is a darker, more reflective story, and one that finally brings Jack face to face with what he truly is.
Alongside that, Finch & Co. is nearing its final manuscript.
This is a quieter book. Slower in its movement, more concerned with place, with small details, with the kind of moments that pass unnoticed until they begin to matter. It is set within a London bookshop where very little seems to happen at first glance, but where everything is, in its own way, shifting. I have spent a great deal of time making sure it feels exactly as it should, and I am close now to letting it stand on its own.
There is also another project, The Nexus Protocol, which is currently out with literary agents.
That part of the process is, by its nature, a waiting one. There is not much to do except continue writing and let the work speak for itself. Whatever comes of it, the story is finished, and that in itself feels like a milestone.
For now, I will return to the desk in the morning and continue where I left off.
Thank you for being here, and for following these stories as they take shape.
Sven
