The Adventures of Jack the Cat – Book Four Has Arrived

A thank you from the Five Streets and from my heart

Today marks a moment I once believed I would only daydream about. After years of writing, revising, doubting, rewriting, laughing at my own characters, and whispering encouragement to a very stubborn fictional cat, Book Four of The Adventures of Jack the Cat is officially here.

The Last Light is live.

The journey that began with a hungry little cat sneaking through The Five Streets in The Food Thief has now reached its final chapter. It feels surreal to say that. Part of me is still standing in the garden with Jack and MooMoo, watching their very first mystery unfold. Another part of me is walking with them through the virus, the Sewers, the Zoo, the Allotment, and every corner of their world that grew far bigger than I ever intended.

This series started with a simple idea.
A cat.
A mystery.
A small world that felt safe and familiar.

But as I wrote, something changed. Jack became more than a cat. MooMoo became more than a partner. The Five Streets became more than a setting. And all of you turned the story into something alive, something shared.

You walked with Jack through hunger and hope.
You stayed through the darkness of The Sewer Murders.
You held your breath as the world ended in World’s End.
And now, you joined him for one final fight in The Last Light.

I cannot express how grateful I am for every single one of you. Your messages, your reviews, your artwork, your support during the long writing nights, and the simple fact that you cared about these characters made this dream real. You kept me writing during days when I thought I had nothing left to give. You made me a better author.

Thank you for trusting Jack’s journey.
Thank you for returning to The Five Streets every time.
Thank you for sharing the books with friends and family.
Thank you for every kind word that reminded me why stories matter.
Thank you for giving this small black cat a place in your world.

This is not goodbye.
The Five Streets will always remain.
Somewhere between light and shadow, they wait for anyone willing to listen.

As for me, I will continue writing, exploring new worlds, and shaping new stories with the same heart I put into Jack’s. But this series, this little family of street cats, will always hold a special place inside me.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping Jack find his light.

With gratitude,
Sven Rodrigues-Wagner
